:?  1988 BMW 735i Question
Does any one have a trick for breaking loose the fan nut from the water pump?  I broke the belt and have no tension to keep the thing from spinning when I try to break the nut loose.  It looks like I will have to remove a lot of things on the front of the block to give me clearance to get a hold on anything.  Does anyone have a neat trick?????  Help me please!!!

Hi, I know exactly what your talking about. If the fan clutch has never been removed they are a real bear to break loose. The only real way of doing this is with the special tool that holds the water pump pulley while then turning the fan clutch counter clockwise with the special long wrench(very thin for access). :D

Thanks for the answer.  I have ordered the wrench set to get the job done.
